Olympic Games 2020
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board added Sport Climbing to the Olympic Games (OG). The OG will take place in Tokyo (JPN) from 24th July - 9th August 2020.

Youth Olympic Games 2018
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) Executive Board added Sport Climbing to the Youth Olympic Games (YOG). The YOG took place in Buenos Aires (ARG) from 6th - 18th October 2018.

World Games 2017
The IFSC is a member of the International World Games Association and therefore takes part in the World Games scheduled every four years.
The World Games 2017 took place in Wroclaw (POL) from 20th to 30th July.
For the first time in the 2017 World Games, Sport Climbing was present with all three disciplines: 72 Athletes (24 per discipline) had the unique chance to compete in bouldering, lead and speed. Previously athletes had only competed in lead and speed.

Key Figures 2017 World Games
- 3 Disciplines and 66 of the world's best athletes represented Sport Climbing (some athletes qualified in multiple categories)
- 23 Countries were registered in Sport Climbing
- The venue in Nowy Targ attracted large crowds of spectators. Total tickets sold for the World Games reached 160,000
- The event was filmed and broadcast on the Olympic Channel and 130 Channels worldwide
